Minimum Requirements

To be considered for membership with the Wooster Township Fire Department, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age
  2. Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license
  3. Meet the residency requirements as approved by the Chief

🎓 Student Volunteer Program

The Wooster Township Fire Department Student Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for OSU/ATI or College of Wooster students—who are already affiliated with a fire or EMS department—to continue serving while attending classes at the Wooster Campus.

Program Highlights:

  • Become a member of a duty crew and serve weekly shifts

  • Respond to emergencies alongside department personnel

  • Participate in monthly training activities

Participation Requirements:

  • Prior affiliation with a Fire Department or EMS agency

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA

  • Complete a general health exam (provided by the department)

  • Successfully pass the physical performance test
