Minimum Requirements
To be considered for membership with the Wooster Township Fire Department, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license
- Meet the residency requirements as approved by the Chief

Student Volunteer Program
The Wooster Township Fire Department Student Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for OSU/ATI or College of Wooster students—who are already affiliated with a fire or EMS department—to continue serving while attending classes at the Wooster Campus.
Program Highlights:
Become a member of a duty crew and serve weekly shifts
Respond to emergencies alongside department personnel
Participate in monthly training activities
Participation Requirements:
Prior affiliation with a Fire Department or EMS agency
Maintain a 2.0 GPA
Complete a general health exam (provided by the department)
Successfully pass the physical performance test
