Pancake Day – A Community Tradition Since 1986

Our First Pancake Day

In 1986, the Wooster Township Fire Department, in partnership with the Westwood Ruritans, hosted the first annual Pancake Day. Attendance was just over 300 people, and proceeds went toward purchasing much-needed equipment for the department.

Today’s Pancake Day

More than 35 years later, Pancake Day remains our only annual fundraiser and is now held on the first Saturday in March at Triway High School.

Each year, nearly 2,500 people attend, with all proceeds continuing to benefit the Wooster Township Fire Department.

Why It Matters

Thanks to the community’s support, Pancake Day has helped us purchase vital equipment including:

  • Hydraulic rescue tools
  • Airbags
  • Heart monitors
  • Gas monitors
  • Smoke alarms
  • Self-contained breathing apparatus
  • Training aids

Our Members are committed to continuing this tradition for years to come, ensuring we can always provide the best service possible to our community.
